When you arrive, we start with a quick consult so we’re on the same page about length, parting, and the amount of boho hair you want showing. If you’re aiming for a bubble braids look later, we’ll keep that in mind so the braid size works with your ponytail sections.
If you’re coming in Monday through Wednesday and you want the complimentary shampoo and conditioning, we’ll get you cleansed and conditioned first. Then we section and start the knotless install. Knotless means we feed the hair in, so you’re not starting with a tight knot sitting on your scalp. Right after your appointment, a little tightness at the roots is normal for the first day or two. What’s not normal is throbbing pain or bumps from tension. If something feels too tight, let us know sooner rather than later so we can talk you through the fix.
At home, keep it simple. A silk or satin scarf, bonnet, or pillowcase makes the biggest difference in frizz, especially if you’re wearing bubble braids or high ponytails a lot. For scalp care, go light with a spray or a small amount of oil so you’re not creating buildup around the parts.
Summer care in Naperville that actually helps
- Bring a headscarf if you sweat on an I-88 drive or during a Metra commute. It helps keep the hairline neat.
- Skip heavy gels on the boho pieces. They tend to clump and make the style look tired faster.
