Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Extra Full Small Locs.

Appointments usually range from two to four hours depending on hair density, loc thickness, and required maintenance. New retouches or heavy buildup may take longer; precise timing is provided during booking to accommodate each client's needs.

We use gentle techniques, proper parting, and controlled handling to prevent unraveling. Shampoo and conditioning are applied with care; coiling and drying methods help reseal and strengthen roots so loc integrity is maintained throughout the service.

Most clients return every four to eight weeks for maintenance, depending on hair growth rate and desired neatness. Extra-full small locs may require slightly more frequent care to manage new growth and prevent excess frizz.

Color application can be arranged, but it requires additional time and consultation. We recommend scheduling a color appointment separately or informing your stylist in advance to assess hair porosity and minimize damage while ensuring even, vibrant results.

Use sulfate-free shampoo, avoid heavy conditioners between appointments, and gently palm-roll new growth. Sleep with a satin scarf or pillowcase, limit heat styling, and schedule regular washes and retouches to preserve fullness, prevent buildup, and extend the life of your locs.

Only targeted products are recommended: lightweight oils, residue-free cleansers, and a light holding balm for frizz control. We avoid heavy waxes and heavy creams that attract buildup; your stylist will suggest a tailored product list for your locs.
